Bespoke Process

We are proud to offer bespoke and made-to-measurement across all categories as part of our commitment to thoughtful product, personal service and responsible manufacturing.

We’re all unique – in our body type, and in our preferences. Our made-to-measure service is designed to better understand you and offer guidance tailored to your individual context. You’re involved in the conversation, and each piece is specially crafted, rather than taken off the shelf. The result is a garment you’ll wear and cherish for years to come.

Step Two - Measurement

Simple though it may seem, it takes years of practice and a wealth of experience to get an accurate measurement because each of you has an unique body type. Our experienced master tailors will be taking dozens of precise measurements that consider your posture, figure, and individual needs, as well as taking notes and photographs. Based on your unique measurements, further recommendations on the fit and cut of the garment will be given you at this stage.

Step Three - Pattern drafting & cutting

After an extensive measurement process and taking into account of the customer’s unique body features, our tailors will construct a 2-dimensional paper pattern which forms the template to cut fabrics that belong to individual customers. The paper pattern will be stored on file indefinitely for re-ordering purpose and will be adjusted from time to time as necessary, to reflect the customer’s changing shape and style preferences.

Step Four - Basted fitting

To get a satisfactory fit we require a basted fitting of all of our customers. At this stage, you get to try on your suit for the first time, which is temporarily stitched together with unfinished lapels and only one sleeve basted, making it more versatile for us to make any adjustment to the fit of the garment based on your preferences.

Step Five - Handiwork

After the basted fitting, our customer's garment will be sent off for a straight finish that will incorporate the necessary adjustments, which takes around 2 weeks time.
At this stage, the lining will be filled in, the buttonholes will get finished off, the clothes are to be carefully steam pressed to perfection and all handiwork’s will have been inspected repeatedly to ensure a perfect fit for our customers before delivery. There may be further alteration that may deem necessary even at this stage as you try on your clothes again, but generally we are happy to let you go if it already looks good on you.

At Brummell, we guarantee to deliver products with the perfect fit and finish, but our service doesn’t end at delivery. With satisfaction guarantee, we promise free alteration within 6 months of purchase and lifetime replacement of any missing button. Based on the finalized product, we will update our customer’s paper pattern and store on file together with your measurements in order to make it much easier for you to reorder from us next time.
